短編映画『輝ける傷（スペインでの休暇をめぐるかなり鮮明な白昼夢）』上映会

スペイン・バルセロナ生まれの監督、クリスティアン・アビレスによる初の監督作品であり、世界20以上の映画祭で称賛された短編映画『輝ける傷（スペインでの休暇をめぐるかなり鮮明な白昼夢）』（2023年、23分）を上映します。

アビレス監督がESCAC（カタルーニャ映画視聴覚大学）の卒業時に制作した初の監督作は、10代の精神世界や魔法、自傷といったテーマを掘り下げるフィクションです。近年、スペインへ旅行するイギリスの若者たちによって引き起こされている実際の現象「バルコニング（主に酔った観光客がバルコニーからプールへと飛び込む行為）」を深い洞察と超現実的な視点で見つめています。撮影は16mmフィルムで実施されました。

2018年から誠光社でイベントを実施してきた映画上映と執筆のプロジェクト「肌蹴る光線」が主催する今回の企画では、アビレス監督へのインタビュー動画も作品と共に放映予定（スペイン語通訳は新谷和輝さん）。

日本語字幕付きでの上映は国内初となる貴重な機会。ぜひお立ち寄りください。

We present the short film “La herida luminosa – Daydreaming So Vividly About Our Spanish Holidays” (2023, 23 min), the debut directorial work by Barcelona-born director Cristian Avilés, which has been acclaimed at over 20 film festivals worldwide.

Avilés’s debut film, created upon graduating from ESCAC, is a fictional work exploring themes of adolescent psyches, magic, and self-harm. It offers a deeply insightful and surreal perspective on the real phenomenon of “balconing” (primarily drunk tourists diving from balconies into pools), increasingly caused by young British travelers in Spain. The film was shot on 16mm film.

Organized by the “Hadakeru Kōsen” project—a film screening and writing initiative held at Seikosha since 2018—this event will also feature a video interview with Director Avilés alongside the film (Spanish interpretation by Kazuki Niiya).

【作品概要 SYNOPSIS】
光と暖かさへの欲求に駆られ、イギリスのティーンたちはバレアレス諸島へと旅立ちます。
太陽の光を吸いこみ、体内に蓄え、雲に覆われた王国へと持ち帰る必要があるのです。
本作はバルコニング——近年の夏、特にスペインへ旅行する若者たちに悲劇的な自傷行為を引き起こしている実際の現象——をめぐる超現実的な映画です。

Driven by their desire for light and warmth, British teenagers take a trip to the Balearic Islands. They must absorb the sun and store it in their bodies to take it back to their cloud-covered kingdom. A surreal film about the real phenomenon of “balconing” which, in recent summers, has led to tragic, self-inflicted accidents particularly among young people travelling to Spain.

まず何よりも先に「輝ける傷」というタイトルに心奪われました。誰にも共有できないどころか、自分自身にすらうまく説明のできない苦しさに蝕まれていたとしても、光を完全に失ってしまったわけではないということ。そんな予感がこの言葉から伝わってきて、強く背中をさすられるような気持ちになったことを覚えています。そして実際に作品を拝見し、その予感は確信へと変わりました。アビレス監督は人の感情や行動を簡単に記号化することなく、むしろその背景にある熱や湿度にまで思いを馳せ、詩の力と魔法の気配を信じながら映画を制作されているように思います。この映画の「若者たち」への向き合い方は、ニュースキャスターが報道するそれとはまるで違っているのです。

春の気候のなかで、さまざまな場所から『輝ける傷』を共に鑑賞できれば嬉しいです。昨年の初夏に初めてコンタクトを取ってから、こうして企画が実現するまでの長い間、愛想を尽かすどころか、毎回デスクトップが絵はがきに見えてくるほどの美しいメールを送り続けてくださったアビレス監督に心から感謝いたします。

First and foremost, I was captivated by the title “La herida luminosa (literally meaning shining wounds)”. Even if one is consumed by a pain too profound to share with anyone, or even to fully explain to oneself, it doesn’t mean the light has been completely extinguished. I remember feeling that sense of reassurance,like someone had firmly rubbed my back, as that feeling came through from the title. And upon actually seeing the film, that premonition turned into certainty. Director Avilés doesn’t reduce human emotions and actions to easy symbols. Instead, the film attends even to the heat and humidity beneath them, seeming to be made in faith in the power of poetry and the touch of magic. This film’s approach to “young people” is entirely different from how a news anchor might report on them.

I would be delighted if we could share the experience of watching ‘La herida luminosa’ together in the spring weather, wherever we may be. I am deeply grateful to Director Avilés, who, since our first contact last early summer, without ever blaming our slow pace but instead continued to send such beautiful emails that my desktop began to resemble a collection of picture postcards.
